Movers & Shakers from the July 19, 2010 Issue

ELLEN JANE FOLEY was named human resources manager at Home Staff of Worcester. She was previously a human resources consultant at UMass Correction Health. She has a bachelor’s in communication and HR certification from Northeastern University and a master’s in organizational management from the University of Phoenix. Home Staff also announced that it promoted Judy Mansur to community relations manager of the Greater Worcester area. Mansur previously ran the company’s Leominster office for more than two years. Before that she spent more than 30 years in customer service at Sharfmans Jewelers in Worcester. In her new position, Mansur is responsible for both the Central Massa-chusetts and Cape Cod regions. Her work includes outreach to elder care attorneys, financial planners, geriatric care managers and seniors in general.

Worcester architectural firm Lamoureux Pagano and Associates has hired project manager MARTIN GOULET. Goulet has worked in project management for 10 years, working on projects at the University of Massachusetts Amherst and schools in Spencer, Rutland, Boylston and elsewhere. He is now part of the firm’s project management team for its $35 million addition and renovation project at Burgess Elementary School in Sturbridge.

FRANCESCO CESAREO, president of Worcester’s Assumption College, has been elected to the board of directors of the Association of Independent Colleges and Uni-versities in Massachusetts Inc. Cesareo became the 16th president of the college in 2007. Previously, he was dean of the McAnulty College and Graduate School of Liberal Arts at Duquesne University in Penn-sylvania. Before that, he was a member of the history department at John Carroll University in Ohio, where he was also the founding director of the Institute of Catholic Studies.

The Worcester Sharks hockey team has hired JASON JONES as director of ticket sales. Jones previously worked for the American Hockey League in Lowell, most recently as director of ticket sales. He has also worked as an account executive with the Lowell Lock Monsters and served as a board member of the Northeastern Massachusetts branch of the March of Dimes.

Westborough-based energy services firm Conservation Services Group has hired SHEILA M. DALY as director of professional services. Daly’s duties include overseeing software rollout teams for the company’s information solutions department and managing business analysts and project managers. Daly previously served as vice president of professional services for Softrax Corp. in Canton. Before that, she held various senior positions at eCredit.com of Quincy and Boca Raton, Fla., now known as Cortera Inc. She also spent 15 years in information services and information technology jobs at California-based Wonderware Corp.

The National Professional Science Master’s Association, based at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, has hired DONALD LANGENBERG as director of strategic planning and external projects. Langenberg is the former chancellor of the University of Maryland system. He led the 14-member university system from 1990 to 2002. Before that, he was chancellor of the University of Illinois at Chicago, as well as a professor of physics. He was named deputy director of the National Science Foundation in 1980.

NANCY L. DOANE was named vice president of deposit operations at Worcester-based Commerce Bank & Trust. She was hired at Commerce in April 2008. She has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Salem State College. Com-merce also announced that STACY FLORES has been named assistant vice president of deposit operations. Flores joined the bank in 1999 as a new accounts clerk and moved up the ranks, serving most recently as deposit operations officer.

Two new lawyers, CHARLES E. YON and DAVID VIENS, have joined Worcester-based Bowditch & Dewey LLP. Yon joined the firm as a partner in the business and finance practice area. He is a transactional and licensing lawyer and has specialized in work for pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device and clean energy companies. Viens is now an associate in the litigation practice area. He focuses on business and general civil litigation. He has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Rochester and a law degree from Suffolk University.

The Worcester Regional Research Bureau has elected its officers for the 2010-2011 year: Chairman SANDRA DUNN, GEORGE W. TETLER III, BRIAN THOMPSON, AGNES E. KULL and D.M. MOSCHOS. Dunn is general manager of the DCU Center. Tetler is a partner with Bowditch & Dewey LLP. Thompson is president and CEO of Commerce Bank. Kull is chairman of the Greenberg, Rosenblatt, Kull & Bitsoli accounting firm. Moschos is a partner with Mirick, O’Connell, DeMallie & Lougee LLP. The organization also elected 10 members to three-year terms: RICHARD BURKE of Fallon Community Health Plan, RICHARD FOOTE of Bowditch & Dewey, LISA KIRBY GIBBS of Highland March, MICHAEL T. LEHR of the Worcester Sharks, DENNIS LYONS of the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences, JOHN PRANCKEVICIUS of Mass-Port, TODD RODMAN of Seder & Chandler, NICHOLAS SMITH of Rand Whitney Container, RUSS VANDERBAAN of Siemens VAI and GAYLE WEISS of Unum.

The Worcester Academy Board of Trustees has elected two new members: PATRICIA Z. EPPINGER and LUKE M. VAILLANCOURT. Both will serve three-year terms on the private high school’s board. Eppinger has worked as a consultant with McKinsey & Co. She has a bachelor’s degree in economics and government from the College of William & Mary and an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth. Vaillancourt is director of digital marketing for Vaillancourt Folk Art in Sutton, one of the last companies to make Christmas decorations and collectibles in the United States. He handles the company’s advertising, Internet and e-commerce efforts.

Anna Maria College in Paxton has hired Sister PAULA MARIE BULEY as executive vice president. In her new role, Buley will oversee the administrative functions of the offices of advancement and academic affairs. Previously, Buley served as an independent consultant for colleges and universities in Pennsylvania. Before that, she held senior administrative roles at the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas, Mount Saint Mary’s University in Emmitsburg, Md., and Seton Hall University in New Jersey. Buley has a bachelor’s degree from Immaculata University and an MBA from Villanova University, both in Pennsylvania, an education degree in higher education from the University of Pennsylvania and a master’s degree in Catholic studies from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.
