ExaGrid Adds SecureErase Feature

Westborough's ExaGrid Systems Inc., which provides disk-based backup solutions, announced it has extended its security capabilities by introducing a new SecureErase feature to permanently delete confidential data from disks following a backup process.

The company said the feature complies with Department of Defense standards and National Institute of Standards and Technology standards and ensures that organizations can comply when required to remove backup data from ExaGrid's disk-based backup appliance.

The company said a feature that securely erases data is critical for organizations with high security concerns which it works with, including federal, state and local governments, financial service organizations and insurance and legal firms.
