Realtors Association: Pending Home Sales See 14th Straight Increase
The number of single-family homes and condominiums put under agreement in June saw a year-over-year increase for the 14th straight month, according to the Massachusetts Association of Realtors (MAR).
In June, 5,273 homes were put under purchase and sale agreement compared to 4,085 in June 2011, an increase of 29.1 percent. Condominium pending sales also continued their upward trend, with 2,029 units put under agreement last month, up from 1,572.
Pending sales numbers are an indicator of actual sales for the following two to three months, according to MAR.
MAR President Trisha McCarthy said "The June pending sales numbers are a good indication that new buyers are continuing to enter the market and making offers on homes."
