Ameresco Begins $4M Washington Contract Work

Framingham-based energy efficiency and renewable energy company Ameresco announced that its Pacific Northwest business Ameresco Quantum Inc. has begun work on a $3.9-million contract in Washington state.

Work done under the contract with the Battle Ground School District in Clark County builds on two energy conservation projects the company did for the district in 2010 and 2011 that focused on major plumbing and lighting upgrades. A state grant worth $1 million and $322,000 in rebates from the Clark County Public Utility District will help offset the district’s costs.

Seven buildings in the 13,000-student district will receive upgrades.

Ameresco Quantum will manage the design and installation of new mechanical systems, as well as upgrades and replacements to the district’s energy management systems and other equipment. The upgrades are expected to reduce utility costs and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by decreasing carbon emissions by nearly 2 million pounds per year, Ameresco said.
