The state's 6.25-percent sales tax has now been extended to providers and business buyers of computer and network services. The extension, which took effect July 31, applies to business-to-business software design and network services, but not data storage. While lawmakers and Gov. Deval Patrick look at the levy as a way to help generate revenue for transportation infrastructure, business groups argue that it will slow the growth of a cornerstone of the Bay State economy, and could even nudge some businesses to leave Massachusetts. So, our Flash Poll question for this week is:
Will the extension of the state sales tax to software design and network services impact your business?
