Athol Savings Bank hired MAUREEN NOVIELLO as senior vice president of human resources. She most recently was senior vice president of HR for St. Mary's Credit Union in Marlborough. Noviello has served in human resources roles for law firms, high-tech and manufacturing firms, as well as two other financial institutions. She is a resident of Leominster.

LUCAS J. MILLER and WILLIAM L. MARTIN were hired by Worcester-based Bay State Savings Bank. Miller was named vice president and compliance officer and Martin vice president of commercial lending at the bank's Worcester headquarters. Miller, a licensed attorney in Massachusetts and New York, previously served as director of compliance and grants for the Neighborhood Assistance Corp. of America in Boston and as compliance officer with Prime Financial Inc. in Southborough. He holds a bachelor's degree in chemistry from Worcester State University and a J.D. from Suffolk University in Boston. Martin most recently served as vice president and commercial account manager at TD Bank in Worcester. He holds bachelor's and master's degrees — both in business administration — from Nichols College in Dudley.

CHARLIE TOWNSEND has been hired as video coaching assistant for the Worcester Sharks. He spent the last three seasons as a professional hockey player in the Central Hockey and French Elite leagues. He served as an assistant coach and video coordinator for the Bloomington Blaze after an injury-shortened season last year. He is a graduate of Middlebury College in Middlebury, Vt.

DR. MARIA C. DUNN was hired by Worcester-based Reliant Medical Group to practice in its department of geriatrics. She earned her medical degree from the University of Vermont in Burlington. She then completed her internship and residency at Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester, followed by fellowships at UMass Memorial Health Care in Worcester and San Diego Hospice & The Institute for Palliative Medicine in San Diego. Dr. Dunn is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

JULIE DELONG was hired as CFO of Grafton Suburban Credit Union. She most recently was CFO at Mass Bay Credit Union. Prior to that, she was executive vice president at Tremont Credit Union and an auditor with KPMG LLP. A graduate of Fitchburg State University with a bachelor's degree in business administration, she earned her master's in finance at Bentley University in Waltham. She is a certified public accountant.

CARRIE MONK and PAUL FITZPATRICK were hired by GFA Federal Credit Union: Monk as branch manager of the South Gardner location at 67 Pearson Blvd., Gardner, and Fitzpatrick as senior vice president. Monk has a decade of commercial banking experience. She earned a degree in business administration from Quinsigamond Community College in Worcester. Fitzpatrick joined GFA in 1994 as vice president of GFA Financial Group, the credit union's wealth management division. He holds a bachelor's degree from Nichols College in Dudley and lives in Milford.

BENJAMIN DUSZLAK, PAMELA FITZGERALD, ALEC PECK and SHARON PETERSON were elected to the advisory board of Rutland-based Devereux Massachusetts, a nonprofit providing treatment for behavioral disorders. Duszlak is vice president at Santander Bank (formerly Sovereign Bank) in Worcester. Fitzgerald is an educational advocate with Advocacy Consulting Services of Northborough. Peck is an associate professor at Boston College in Chestnut Hill, and Peterson is comptroller at Apple Oil Co. in West Haven, Conn. The board also elected the following officers: KRIS HENDERSON, chair, Conte Insurance in Paxton; PHIL WETTENGEL, 1st vice chair, United Way in Worcester; and GAYLE WEISS, 2nd vice chair, Unum in Worcester.

LISA HOWE was hired as director of preservation by Boston-based Consigli Construction Co., with offices in Milford. She has nearly 30 years of experience in the design and construction industry, leading the restoration of the Massachusetts State House, Harvard University's Sever Hall, Boston's Trinity Church, and the Conrad B. Duberstein Courthouse in Brooklyn, N.Y. Howe is a graduate of Roger Williams University in Bristol, R.I., and holds a master's degree in real estate development from the University of Maryland in College Park.

LYNN STEIN was named to the board of directors of Westborough-based Conservation Services Group, a residential energy efficiency firm. She is senior director at E Source, where she provides strategic account management for utility clients and direction to E Source services. Before E Source, Stein designed and evaluated demand-side management programs for the utilities formerly known as New England Electric and Boston Edison.

JOHN W. TANNER, general manager of Arlington-based American Alarm and Communications, with offices in Auburn, has been named regional general manager. It's a newly created position and will include management of the company's New Hampshire division, the systems installation team that serves the metropolitan Boston area, as well as continued oversight of the Worcester branch. He is a resident of Lunenburg.
