Massachusetts is one of several states that have legalized marijuana for use as medicine. But what does that mean for businesses? A recent article in the Boston Herald said the law could force employers to make hard choices on drug use by workers. For example, what do you do about an employee who prefers to maintain his or her privacy and not disclose a medical condition for which he's smoking cannabis or marijuana as a form of treatment? “The bottom line for the employer is that people cannot be impaired in the workplace,” Chris Geehern of Associated Industries of Massachusetts told the Herald.
