Director of Program Development, Alternatives Inc., Whitinsville

Birthplace: Gardner

Residence: Athol

High school: Gardner High School

Colleges and degrees earned: B.S. in Human Services, Fitchburg State University

Career highlights: Within three years at Alternatives I was an intern, hired as a relief staff, promoted to developmental specialist, then promoted to my current role. In 2003, I received the Alternatives Leadership Award. A true highlight for me has been seeing three of my managers receive the same honor.

Community involvement: I have been a member of the Orange Gun Club for many years and am a new member of the Elks – Gardner Lodge. I volunteer in the preparation and serving of Thanksgiving dinner in my local community, as well as Kids Safety Day and Alternatives' Valley Friendship Tour.

Ultimate career goal: To keep doing a job that I love at least 90 percent of the time.

Non-relative you admire most: Clark Kent/Superman

Favorite book: “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” by Roald Dahl

Hidden talents: I am a wealth of '70s, '80s and '90s music knowledge, and I learned how to juggle in college.

“If I were to win $1 million in the lottery, I would … pay for my son's education, purchase a new home and travel.”
