It's now legal in Massachusetts to use marijuana for medicinal purposes, following voter approval of a referendum in 2012. But with activists expected to push for legalization of recreational use of the drug in 2016, according to State House News Service, state Senate President Stanley Rosenberg wants to look at how the commonwealth might want to regulate it ahead of the vote. Rosenberg said ballot referendums can't accommodate for concerns that might be raised through the legislative process, the news service reported, meaning that if the Legislature doesn't act before a referendum vote, marijuana may go unregulated. Is the legislature taking the right course of action? Please vote and comment on this week's Flash Poll.
Should the state be pro-active by regulating marijuana before a possible referendum vote in 2016 that would make it legal for recreational use?
