A $2-million expansion and renovation of a Northborough commercial property that was handled by a Boylston architecture firm is set to have its grand opening Wednesday.

The open house for the property at 71 Lyman St. in Northborough is scheduled for 4-6 p.m. Wednesday. The 30,000-square-foot building is owned by Attleboro-based Amego that will be providing day services for adults with disabilities in half the space. The company acquired the building two years ago for $1.65 million, according to Massachusetts land records.

Company officials renovated the second floor to meet Amego’s needs, adding a 2,000-square-foot addition and new lobby and meeting area with full accessibility, according to William J. Masiello Architect Inc. of Boylston that handled the project. The first floor is currently occupied by a tenant.

The project cost approximately $2 million, according to Masiello.
