Massachusetts gas prices continue to fall

FreeDigitalPhotos.net

Gas prices in the state continue to fall and stabilize as oil refineries in the Gulf Coast recover after a damaging hurricane season so far.

AAA Northeast on Tuesday announced Massachusetts the average per gallon price of regular unleaded dipped another 5 cents this week to $2.55.

The agency announced after Hurricane Harvey ravaged the Gulf Coast and parts of Texas in August and September prices would begin to fall in late September and into October due to the recovery of oil operations and a slower fall demand.

As a result of Harvey and declining gas supplies, prices surged by 44 cents to an average of $2.70 at the beginning of September, according to AAA.
