Armsby Abbey owners to open Conico restaurant in Hudson

Google The owners of Armsby Abbey are opening a restaurant called Conico in this Main Street building in Hudson.

The Worcester couple behind Armsby Abbey and Dive Bar are planning a third location, this one in Hudson.

The new restaurant operated by husband and wife team Alec Lopez and Sherri Sadowski will be called Conico and will be located in a coveted Main Street spot in the busy downtown area.

On Monday, the Hudson Board of Selectmen approved the restaurant’s liquor license, and on Tuesday, the restaurateurs confirmed the new location on the Armsby Abbey Facebook page.

The post, however, made clear the new restaurant is entirely separate from Armsby Abbey. The restaurant is not moving, nor is it a second Armsby location.

At Monday’s meeting, Lopez said the lease has already been signed and he hopes to begin construction on the space soon, which will include taking down a wall separating the bottom floor of the Main Street building to provide enough room for at least 100 seats.

The building is owned by prominent Hudson businessman and developer Charles Randall.

The restaurant joins a growing downtown area with several restaurants and retail shops, including Rail Trail Flatbread Co., Medusa Brewing Co., New City Microcreamery and The Haberdash.
