The Point at Marlborough, a residential community off Brigham Street has sold for $65 million, a number that could set a high price mark for the year for Central Massachusetts.

The Point was previously known as Jefferson at Wheeler Hill and Heights at Wheeler Hill.

The development, which was built in 2002, was sold by Strategic Partners U.S. in Los Angeles, an arm CBRE Global Investors. It was bought by Pantzer Properties, a New York property management company that also owns The Point in Hudson, a development at 1000 Matix Way, off Technology Drive near the Walmart Supercenter.

The sale closed Aug. 3.

Strategic Partners U.S. bought the nine-building, 72-acre property in 2015 for just under $59 million.

The sale of The Point was one of two multimillion-dollar sales in Marlborough that closed in the span of a few weeks this summer.

An early education center called The Learning Experience at 70 Simarano Drive sold for just over $3.8 million in a sale that closed July 30. The 10,000-square-foot building, which was built in 2016, was bought by Dayna Realty, which is registered to a residential address in North Kingstown, R.I. It was sold by Marlborough Mammoth Simarano, an LLC registered to Coffman Realty of Brockton. Coffman bought the building in 2015 for $500,000.
