Bedford wholesale distributor of plumbing, heating, industrial and HVAC equipment F.W. Webb has purchased a 75,000-square-foot warehouse in Auburn for more than $4.7 million to open a wholesale store and showroom.

The property sale for 33 Sword St. closed Tuesday.

According to land records, the property was sold by Carmichael Realty Trust to RAM Construction LLC, an affiliate of F.W. Webb controlled by company treasurer and COO Robert Mucciarone.

The facility was once occupied by Imperial Distributors, which two years ago consolidated and moved into a $29-million warehouse on Blackstone River Road in Auburn.

F.W. Webb operates another warehouse nearby at 43 Sword St., but that property is on the market, listed at $2.75 million. The location will be open until in the interim.

According to company spokesperson Kim Solle, the company has outgrown the building and will move to the larger 33 Sword St. location at the end of August. The wholesale store and showroom will open by the end of 2019.
