Greendale Mall, assessed for about $13 million, is being put on the market by property owners C-III Capital Partners, which purchased the property via foreclosure auction in 2016 for $11.8 million. The mall is now mostly vacant with 17 active stores and 26 empty spaces. The mall is within a federally recognized opportunity zone and could provide tax advantages to investors.
What would be the best use for the Greendale Mall?

needs to be affordable housing - not 1 bedroom studios for 1200 a month. Families can not afford the new apartments that are popping up everywhere

The mall can be converted to a mixed use property. The space can be occupied by several small professional offices, some retail such as a post office, general store, dry cleaner, coffee shop, restaurants and a gym.

The location of the building could be very valuable to a tenant (firm) that desires 'visibility' to thousands of vehicles daily that travel Gold Star Blvd and Rt 190.

Converting to a school is an interesting idea and I believe Worcester wants to build a new anyway. If that doesn't fly, I think commercial or industrial idea is good as well. Reliant is already moving offices into the Auburn Mall where Macys was

It is a nice little Mall but they have never had or lost all of their good stores. It is in a great location and would be a very good mall with better management and a larger choice of stores.

We need an upscale mall in the Worcester area. Restoration Hardware, Ballard, Pottery Barn, Crate and Barrel, Nordstrom's,Tiffany's etc. Greendale Mall has 309,000 square feet and Chestnut Mall has 495,296 square feet. It is smaller but doable.

I think it could be mixed use with commercial and a few retail like you see in Boston.

It could be a nice addition to a Biotech campus, as it is fairly close to WPI

Perhaps an expansion site for Quinsig or one of the other local colleges?
