Paulhus To Take Over For Redding At UniBank

James F. Paulhus has been named president and CEO of Whitinsville-based UniBank.

Paulhus has been the bank's executive vice president for three years and has been in banking for nearly 30 years. He takes over for Kenneth J. Redding, who announced his departure Friday. Paulhus was named to succeed Redding the same day.

Redding is leaving the bank after being CEO since 2005 and serving on the bank's board of directors for 25 years.

Before UniBank, Paulhus was Central Massachusetts market president for Bank of America. The Auburn resident began his career in banking in 1981 at Worcester County National Bank.

Bank spokesman Marjorie Arons-Barron said Redding's departure was not motivated by the bank's financial performance. "These have been the best three or four years in the bank's history," she said.
