Staples Earns Energy Star Honor

Framingham-based Staples Inc. is one of nine New England organizations to receive an Energy Star award from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy this year.

Staples was honored as a Partner of the Year for its energy efficiency programs. The company also won Energy Star awards in 2009 and 2011.

The other awardees were Beacon Capital Partners LLC of Boston, Efficiency Vermont and Vermont Gas Systems, HEI Hotels & Resorts of Connecticut, Raytheon Co. of Waltham, the Joint Management Committee and Sponsors of the Northeast Energy Efficiency Partnerships Inc., both of Lexington, and National Grid of Waltham.
