The board of directors at Worcester-based Polar Beverages has been named Private Company Board of the Year by The National Association of Corporate Directors New England Chapter. Polar board members are: Ralph D. Crowley Jr., president, CEO and acting chair; Christopher J. Crowley; Richard W. Anderson; Jeffery L. Dickson; Frederick W. Ferbert Jr.; Lincoln Isetta; M. Howard Jacobson; Michael S. McGrath; and Carolyn C. Stimpson.

Jacqueline Normand, Realtor and co-owner of Acton Real Estate, was named president of the Realty Guild, a Massachusetts real estate organization. She is a resident of Harvard.

Stephanie Lee, the corporate financial officer at Hudson-based lawn care company Noon Turf Care, was a keynote speaker at the Real Green Systems Industry Conference in Orlando, Fla.

Wegman's Food Markets Inc., with a store in Northborough, is on Fortune magazine's “100 Best Companies To Work For” list, ranking No. 5. It's the 16th year in a row the company has made the list.

Mark Durrenberger, president of Hudson-based solar installation company New England Clean Energy, has been appointed to the board of the Solar Energy Business Association of New England (SEBANE).

Worcester's EcoTarium won a Commonwealth Award from the Massachusetts Cultural Council, honoring achievement in the arts, humanities and sciences.

Peter Ellis and the Ellis family have been selected as the recipients of the 2013 Butch Moore “You Touched Upon My Life” Award, given each year in honor of Moore, a local singing legend. The award was established by Milford-based WMRC-First Class Radio in 2001.

Natick Visiting Nurse Association was awarded grants totaling more than $40,000 during the fourth quarter of 2012. Middlesex Savings Bank awarded $15,000 toward the purchase of tablet computers for the VNA's home health aides. The George A. Ramlose Foundation also awarded the Natick VNA $1,600 for tablets. The Joan H. Brack Charitable Foundation donated $15,000 to ComfortCare, which improves quality of life for patients. The John H. and H. Naomi Tomfohrde Foundation and MutualOne Charitable Foundation each awarded the Natick VNA $5,000 to support its MetroWest Meds program. And, the Joseph Perini Memorial Foundation awarded a $1,500 unrestricted grant.

Maryann Tivnan, business service officer at Leominster Credit Union, was named Ambassador of the Month by the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce for November.

Worcester-based Reliant Medical Group has been selected to Harvard Pilgrim Health Care's 11th annual Physician Group Honor Roll for the fifth time. Out of 132 eligible participating providers from Massachusetts, Maine and New Hampshire, Reliant was one of only 29 to be recognized as “With Distinction.” The honor roll highlights adult and pediatric physician groups that have achieved exceptional results in their approach to disease prevention and the treatment of acute and chronic illness.
