Jabil Completes Nypro Acquisition
Nearly five months after it announced plans to acquire Clinton-based Nypro Inc., Jabil Circuit Inc. said today that the deal is done.
The $665-million acquisition was approved by 99 percent of Nypro's employee ownership stock membership in April. According to Florida-based Jabil, the deal with the precision injection molding and contract manufacturer has received the appropriate antitrust clearances from around the world.
In March, a Jabil spokeswoman said the deal had been slowed as the company awaited clearance from several countries, including China, Russia and Hungary.
According to Jabil, a Fortune 200 company that designs and manufactures electronics, its senior vice president, Courtney Ryan, will oversee Nypro's health care and packaging business, combined with Jabil's existing health care business, in Clinton.
Health care and packaging operations between the two companies cover 23 facilities in 11 countries and more than 20,000 employees worldwide. They will operate jointly as "Nypro, A Jabil Company."
