A Worcester-based investment firm has purchased the mercantile buildings that are home to the Maxwell Silverman’s Toolhouse restaurant for $2.85 million.

1430 Commonwealth LLC, managed by Angelo Gianakis, bought the adjacent office buildings Jan. 31 from 51 Union Realty LLC, managed by Domenic Paldino, according to Peckham Boston Advisors founder Jack Peckham, who worked with independent broker Leon Resnick to represent both parties in the transaction.

The 75,992-square-foot buildings at 28, 49 and 51 Union St. are home to Maxwell Silverman’s, Club Maxine’s, several offices and 150 parking spaces. Peckham said the new owners were looking for an investment property and plan to keep the existing tenants.

Peckman said he began marketing the properties roughly six months ago. 51 Union Realty had owned them for five or six years, Peckman said, and was looking to sell for personal reasons.
