QCC breaks ground on new $23M center

Quinsigamond Community College broke ground today on a $23 million, 30,000-square-foot engineering and technology building.

The funding for the new facility dubbed the QuEST (Quinsigamond Engineering, Science and Technology) Center was provided by a $23 million state bond, as well as a $500,000 grant from the Massachusetts Life Sciences Center, which will be used to furnish and equip specialized space in the Center.

“We are thrilled to be able to continue the work we have undertaken to fortify our STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) programming,” QCC President, Gail E Carberry, said in a statement. “Our new QuEST Center will enable us to offer the most up-to-date technology and equipment to educate the next group of STEM professionals in Central Massachusetts.”
