Courtesy of RK Centers RK Centers of Dedham has purchased Worcester Crossing on Route 146, partially shown here, for $49 million.

Worcester Crossing, the Route 146 retail plaza that opened in 2012 and is anchored by Walmart and Sam’s Club, has sold for $49 million, according to a statement from the buyer.

Privately-held real estate firm RK Centers completed the sale Thursday, according to deed records, adding to its growing portfolio of New England shopping centers. The company also purchased Westborough’s Speedway Plaza last month.

“RK Worcester Crossing is a solid center with excellent access and visibility,” said Raanan Katz, owner of RK Centers, which is headquartered in Dedham.

The 386,853 square-foot complex was purchased from Boston-based Madison Properties, according to records filed in the Worcester County Registry of Deeds, and includes six parcels. Aside from the anchors, other major tenants include an Olive Garden Italian Restaurant and Sleepy’s mattress store. There are just two vacancies in the plaza, each measuring 1,850 square feet.

According to the RK Centers website, the firm owns 26 retail plazas throughout the eastern half of Massachusetts. Aside from Worcester and Westborough, RK has properties in Bellingham, Hudson, Marlborough, Millbury and Sutton.
