HealthAlliance named among most wired hospitals

As health care facilities turn increasingly to adva, HealthAlliance Hospital in Leominster continues to keep pace making the list of Health Care’s Most Wired U.S. hospitals for a seventh straight year, it announced.

HealthAlliance executives pointed out that in the 16 years the list has been published, hospitals and health care systems have made great strides to establish the basic building blocks to create robust clinical information systems aimed at improving patient care. Among the strides they pointed to were improving patient safety, diagnosis and treatment, reduction in health care costs and allowing patients to view their medical records from home electronically while sharing them with their caregivers and primary care providers.

According to HealthAlliance, the 2014 Health Care’s Most Wired Survey asked hospitals and health systems nationwide to answer questions regarding their information technology initiatives. Respondents completed 680 surveys, representing 1,900 hospitals, or more than 30 percent of all U.S. hospitals.

Most Wired Survey was conducted in cooperation with McKesson Corp., AT&T, the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives, and the American Hospital
