Siemens wins Illinois contract
Siemens Metals Technologies, which has operations in Worcester, has been contracted to upgrade facilities at a Keystone Steel and Wire Co. plant in Illinois.
Siemens has been contracted to upgrade the cooling conveyors at the company’s wire rod mill in Bartonville, Ill., according to a statement from Siemens. The project will include new blowers as well as electric and automation equipment.
The upgrades will allow the facility to produce stronger steel with improved quality. This will allow the company to extend the product range, Siemens said.
The new equipment is expected to be created later this year.
