Hudson firm buys building, will move within town

A Hudson machining and engineering consulting services provider will be moving elsewhere in town as it plans to expand.

Borg Design Inc., founded in 1945, will move from its current site on Apsley Street to 19 Brent Dr. - about four miles east – after it bought the site for $1.35 million, according to O’Brien Commercial Properties, which brokered the deal.

The seller was Chase-Walton Realty, whom O’Brien represented in the transaction. The property consists of a two-story industrial building of about 58,000 square feet, located on nearly 16 acres.

Borg’s president, K. Andrew Borg, said the company, which has about 20 employees, plans to move to the new site around the holidays. He added that the expansion, which will more than double the company's workspace, will mean the addition of at least five jobs within the next year and possibly more beyond that.
