Fitchburg shopping center sold

Courtesy photo Geronimo Properties of Leominster is planning upgrades to the SouthFitch Shopping Center in Fitchburg after recently acquiring the property.

Geronimo Properties of Leominster said it purchased the SouthFitch Shopping Center, a 30,000- square-foot retail property at the corner of John Fitch Highway and Summer Street.

The property is home to a variety of tenants, including national retailers like AT&T, and local businesses such as Dutch Kitchen Bakery and JT’s Barber Shop. Geronimo said it will reposition the shopping center with infrastructure and traffic improvements, which will coincide with improvements the state has planned for the area.

“We are excited to welcome current and future tenants into the Geronimo Properties community and look forward to serving SouthFitch shoppers for years to come,” said Paul DiGeronimo, president of Geronimo Properties.

Geronimo declined to disclose the sale price.

Geronimo owns other retail shopping centers in the area, including the Two & Twelve Shopping Center at the intersection of routes 2 and 12 in Leominster, and the Twin City Shopping Center, which faces Route 2 and straddles the Leominster-Fitchburg border.
