WBJ Talk Back

ELECTION AFTERMATH

It was an election with plenty of implications for business that yielded a party switch in the governor's office, a rejection of one legislative action, an endorsement of another, a rejection of a plan to expand the state's bottle-deposit law and approval of a question that mandates sick time for workers. And in Washington, the Republicans will control both chambers of Congress in January. Here's some post-vote commentary from LinkedIn:

“Thanks to all for 'tanking the gas tax' - ending taxation without representation.”

LinkedIn group member Cameron Carey

“I'm grateful for the results of all

the referendums. ... Everyone should have a few days they are allowed to be sick every year! And ... we simply need to continue to promote recycling – not make everything we purchase yet

more expensive!”

LinkedIn group member Matt LaBarre

“I am not optimistic that the new group in Washington will do much to resolve what I believe is the single most serious issue: deficit spending. I hope I am wrong.”

LinkedIn group member Greg Aldrich
