Fabrico of Oxford sold to N.C. firm

Fabrico Inc. of Oxford, which provides components for land-based gas turbines, semiconductors, steam turbines and the aviation market, is being sold to a North Carolina company.

Fabrico, which has additional facilities in Charlton, as well as Greenville, S.C., is being acquired by EnPro Industries of Charlotte, N.C., in a cash transaction. Terms were not disclosed.

EnPro makes engineered industrial products. In a statement announcing the deal, EnPro said Fabrico will become part of EnPro’s Technetics Group, which provides sealing and other products to similar industries.

Fabrico employs about 165. The company’s CEO, Patrick Mullane, said the companies share a similar culture. “While we have enhanced our capabilities significantly over the past five years, we realized that a larger platform would enable us to best serve, and grow with, our customers and, in so doing, provide opportunities for our employees,” Mullane said in a statement.

Gilles Hudon, president of EnPro’s Technetics Group added, “We are excited by the breadth of products and manufacturing capabilities that Fabrico brings to our business.”

In 2011, Fabrico bought Johnson Tool and Manufacturing in Charlton, five years after Fabrico built an 80,000-square foot facility in Oxford.
