Fitchburg manufacturer secures five-year medical contract

Micron Products of Fitchburg has signed an exclusive manufacturing agreement for New Era Orthopaedics knee, hip and spine implant systems.

Under the five-year agreement, Micron Products will manufacture FDA-approved orthopedic implants, with orders set to begin being filled in the second half of 2015. New Era is based in Pennsylvania and specializes in primary joint replacement and spine implants.

“NEO has developed a strong reputation for innovative knee, hip and spine component and system designs. We believe this agreement is a testament to our manufacturing capabilities, as well as our focus on high-quality, rapid fulfillment processes,” Salvatore Emma, Jr., president and CEO of Micron, said in a statement.

Micron is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Arrhythmia Research Technology Inc. that manufactures components, devices and equipment for medical, military, law enforcement, industrial and automotive applications.
