United Way distributes $2.8M in grant funding

The United Way of Central Massachusetts will distribute $2.8 million to 35 different agencies in the organization’s latest round of grant funding.

The funds will operate 49 programs in Central Massachusetts, including Community Healthlink’s Together for Kids, the Regional Environmental Council’s food justice program, and YWCA of Central Massachusetts’ transitional housing.

A total of $1.9 million will go towards programs that provide services aimed at education, health, and family stability. The remaining funds were aimed at programs that assist people with basic needs such as food, housing and crisis intervention.

This year, the United Way is set to distribute more than $5.4 million to the community.
