QCC extends degree deal with tech school

A Boston technical school will continue to accept Quinsigamond Community College’s automotive technology students and bring with them the credits they earn at QCC, the Worcester school announced last week.

The accord with Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology extends an agreement the two schools signed in 2011. Under that agreement, graduates of QCC’s associate degree program in automotive technology, with satisfactory academic performance, will be accepted and have their QCC credits count toward pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in automotive management at the  Franklin institute (BFIT).

“We are pleased to continue our commitment to offer this program for our automotive technicians who want to advance their careers,” QCC President Gail Carberry said in a statement. “Demand for qualified automotive technicians is increasing in this region as the vehicles become more technologically advanced.”
