Molly Bish Center sets new course; names new leader
Ann Marie Mires is the new director of the Milly Bish Center.
The nonprofit Molly Bish Center for the Protection of Children and the Elderly located on the campus of Anna Maria College in Paxton has a new leader and plans to be more active and expand its influence, the college announced.
The new director, Ann Marie Mires is the program director of Anna Maria’s Forensic Criminology program and the former Forensic Anthropologist for the Massachusetts Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. She will utilize her forensic expertise to educate the public on safety and the prevention of violent crime – the primary mission of the center founded more than a decade ago following the death of 16-year-old Molly Bish of Warren, Mass., according to a release from the college.
The Molly Bish Center was established in 2004 to provide education and awareness programs in a victim-family-focused approach for law enforcement, educators, social workers and health and human service professionals. Efforts include building support for legislation, hosting training events and supporting community-based child identification programs and school-based safety and prevention initiatives.
