Devens nonprofit receives EPA grant

Courtesy The New England Environmental Alliance of Devens received $81,000 from the EPA for a 1.5-year education project.

The New England Environmental Alliance of Devens received $81,000 from the US Environmental Protection Agency for a 1.5 year education project, the agency announced Wednesday.

The money will fund the Advancing Climate Change Education in New England program that creates eight summits to improve climate change education among environmental and educational professionals. Summits will be held in each New England state, where they will be focused on a specific topic related to climate change, along with two regional conferences.

The grant was part of total of $275,332 distributed by the US EPA for programs that educate the community about climate change and other environmental issues.
