PHOTO/COURTESY Continued strong sales growth in Massachusetts, such as 260 Boston Post Road in Wayland, have helped all of New England stay ahead of the curve.

Massachusetts home sales were up by 6.2 percent in October when compared to a year earlier, helping lead New England to a net gain of nearly 4 percent in home sales over the previous year’s Halloween month.

Massachusetts saw the median price of home sales increase by 4 percent, according to The RE/MAX INTEGRA, New England October Monthly Housing Report. Pending sales were up 11.6 percent year-over-year for the month.

While this placed Massachusetts ahead of the other New England states, New Hampshire home sales eclipsed Massachusetts with 8.8 percent year-over-year growth while Rhode Island saw an increase of 28.3 percent in pending home sales.

New England’s year-over-year sales for October were up 3.8 percent with pending home sales up 12.3 percent.
