Cutting the ribbon at Rectrix Aviation's new Aerodrome at Worcester Regional Airport are (L-R) former Boston Bruin Derek Sanderson, Massport CEO Thomas Glynn, Massport Director of Aviation Ed Freni, Worcester Airport Manager Andrew Davis, Worcester County Sheriff Lewis Evangelidis, Rectrix Aviation CEO Rich Cawley, Worcester Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Tim Murray, Former Boston Bruin Bobby Orr.

Rectrix Commercial Aviation Services has opened a $5 million aerodrome that will serve as a base of operations for private jets chartered out of the Worcester Airport.

The fixed base operator will operate a 50,000-square-foot hanger space at the airport, which includes just under 20,000 square feet of heated indoor hangar space and 10,000 square feet of office space. In addition to offering concierge services, a flight planning room and pilots’ lounge, Rectrix will also have repair services at the Worcester location. The company said that it can accommodate any large corporate aircraft.

Local officials at the ribbon cutting ceremony last week said having a charter jet company at the airport will help grow business and drive growth at the airport.

Rectrix Commercial Aviation Services, Inc. is a Massachusetts company founded in 2005.
