United Way elects new officers and directors

Doug Petersen, president and CEO of Workers' Credit Union, has been elected chair of the United Way of North Central Massachusetts for a one-year term ending 2016.

The United Way of North Central Massachusetts has elected new officers and directors that will oversee the organization’s volunteer programs and distribution of funds throughout Central Massachusetts.

Doug Petersen, president and CEO of Workers’ Credit Union, has been elected chair for a one-year term ending 2016, with Win Brown, president and CEO of Heywood Hospital, to serve as vice chair, the organization announced last week.

New directors of the organization, being brought on for three-year terms include Hometown Bank President and CEO Mike Hewitt, HealthAlliance Hospital President and CEO Deb Weymouth, Superintendent of Montachusett Regional Vocational Technical School Sheila Harrity, and Susannah Whipps Lee of Whipps, Inc.

Elected as new ex-officio directors to one-year terms expiring 2016: Jeanette Robichaud, agency representative, Athol Area YMCA; and Donata Martin, agency representative, Boys & Girls Club of Fitchburg & Leominster.
