Courtesy of CCL Industries Geoffrey T. Martin, president and CEO of CCL Industries. The Canadian company, which has operations in Framingham, has acquired a specialty label maker for $12 million.

Global specialty label and packaging maker CCL Industries, a Toronto-based company with corporate offices in Framingham, said it has acquired two label-making companies in Hamilton, Ontario for $12 million.

The companies are Mabel’s Labels and Mabel’s Labels Retail Inc., which CCL called a “well-known North American brand” specializing in personalized identification labels for children and families. The private companies with common shareholders are expected to generate $9.5 million in sales combined at the end of their fiscal year in March, CCL said.

The new business will continue to trade as Mabel’s Labels Inc. and report within CCL’s Avery segment, according to a statement from the publicly-traded CCL. The all-cash deal is subject to customary closing conditions.
