New addiction services nonprofit to open in Marlborough

Courtesy of Prana Recovery Centers Prana Recovery Centers, a nonprofit focused on addiction relapse prevention, will open in Marlborough next month.

A yoga instructor who has offered classes to patients at local residential addiction treatment center will open a relapse prevention nonprofit in Marlborough next month.

Kelly McCausland said her organization, Prana Recovery Centers, is dedicated to serving people who struggle with substance abuse, using a blended approach that employs yoga and mindfulness instruction as well as the traditional 12 steps of recovery. The program will take place two evenings per week and one Saturday a month, at nonprofit Employment Options on Brigham Street in Marlborough.

The program is designed for people who have been sober for at least two weeks. Unlike programs licensed by the state, Prana is not an intensive outpatient treatment program, but employs wellness and education to help people avoid relapse.

McCausland said she plans to hire a mental health counselor and a recovery coach to deliver services.
