Avidia Bank helps expand solar access
Avidia Bank has partnered with BlueWave to provide a loan program designed to increase access to solar power in Massachusetts.
Hudson-based Avidia Bank has partnered with a Boston-based solar company to provide loans to consumers who want to install rooftop solar on their homes.
The partnership with BlueWave will funnel the loan program through the company’s solar installers and online. Customers paying through an Avidia Bank checking account will be able to lower their interest rate 25 basis points by having their payments made electronically from that account. This results in a rate of 5.74 percent on the loan.
Avidia and BlueWave officials said they hoped the loan program would help customers gain access to the benefits of the solar installations.
BlueWave also recently partnered with Utah-based solar energy systems provider Vivint Solar to increase access to community solar in Central and Southeastern Massachusetts.
