Shuttle connects Marlborough and Boston
Commuters can avoid traffic like this by riding a new shuttle between Marlborough and Boston.
A new City Shuttle from Marlborough to Boston is being touted as a new economical and efficient way to get into the city by the Marlborough Economic Development Corporation (MEDC).
The new route was launched in October of 2015 and represents a cost-effective way to get into Boston, according to the MEDC. The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) runs the Peter Pan-operated bus, which makes two round trips every weekday and costs $6 for a one way. City Shuttle riders can park for free at the Newton Street Parking Garage in Marlborough and access free WiFi onboard the bus.
The shuttle is especially helpful to those who live in Marlborough and work in Boston, said MEDC Executive Director Tim Cummings.
“Until recently, these people had to drive to the Southborough commuter station, pay $4 for parking and another $9 or so for a one-hour train ride into Boston,” he said. “The new City Shuttle daily service takes people — in comfort — directly from Marlborough to Boston in almost the same amount of time and at half the cost.”
The shuttle departs daily at 6:30 and 7:30 a.m. from the corner of Granger Boulevard and Newton Street in Marlborough and stops upon request at four locations in Boston – Copley Square, Park Square, the State House and South Station.
