Latest MRI technology lands in Worcester

The most advanced MRI machine from General Electric has come to Worcester at the Shields Health Care location on Shrewsbury Street.
The location, which is operated in conjunction with UMass Memorial Health Care, is now operating the newest wide-bore 3T MRI from General Electric that is the most advanced scanner available for clinical use, according to a joint release from the organizations. The level of detail the machine provides allows for better patient diagnoses, as well as the overall experience with scan times being reduced by up to 50 percent over traditional machines along with a decreased sense of claustrophobia.
The Shields and UMass Memorial Health Care network features five locations in Central Massachusetts.
