Assumption College launches engineering degree

Assumption College in Worcester will offer a new engineering degree option to students through a partnership with Washington University in St. Louis.
The new dual degree program will allow students to earn an undergraduate degree from Assumption and one or more degrees from Washington University's School of Engineering and Applied Science (SEAS) in the field of engineering, Assumption announced Monday.
According to the agreement, eligible students will spend three or four years of study at Assumption College and then complete two or three years of study at Washington University. Assumption students who choose the two-year option will spend two years at Washington to complete an undergraduate degree in the SEAS and those who choose the three-year option will spend three years at SEAS to complete the requirements for both an undergraduate degree and a master’s degree.
The degree will be open to Assumption students if they are recommended by the college and complete the entrance requirements specified by SEAS, according to the school. Assumption students who have already completed all undergraduate degree requirements are eligible to apply for this program within 12 months of earning their undergraduate degrees from Assumption.
