Avidia Bank drops solar loan rate by 42%

Hudson-based Avidia Bank announced Monday that it has dropped its solar loan rate down to 1.89 percent for Massachusetts residents seeking to finance their residential solar systems.

Avidia Bank announced that its lending partners dropped the rate from 3.25 percent to 1.89 percent.

Massachusetts’ $30 million Solar Loan program allows qualified lenders to offer low-interest rate financing for residential solar systems for all property owners, including renters and low credit score residents. Avidia Bank has partnered with Boston’s BlueWave to deliver the financing and installation. The partnership with BlueWave will funnel the loan program through the company's solar installers and online.

Avidia Bank is a $1.2 billion mutual bank, headquartered in Hudson with branches in Hudson, Westborough, Clinton, Leominster, Marlborough, Northborough and Shrewsbury.
