Sandwich medical supplier buys Auburn firm in expansion

The Auburn location is currently undergoing renovations but has already been rebranded under the Cape Medical Supply name.

Cape Medical Supply has acquired New England Medical Homecare of Auburn as the Sandwich-based company expands into Worcester County and the Central Massachusetts market.

The purchase of the practice, which took place on July 29, will see six of the Auburn company’s seven employees staying on, as co-founder Steve Callan is retiring. Co-founder Marie Terlizzi will continue working at the location for Cape Medical Supply.

Cape Medical Supply, which is headquartered in Canton, offers homecare and in-office solutions for patients and healthcare organizations in the fields of oxygen, home medical equipment, sleep therapy, clinical respiratory services and orthopedic services. The acquisition brings the company to just under 100 employees, according to spokesperson Craig Orsi, and increases the communities it serves to over 650.

According to Orsi, the company is expecting to grow in the location and add more jobs along with that growth.

Financial terms were not disclosed.
