A Southborough chapel converted into an office building has been sold to an investment group for $489,000, with plans to make improvements to the structure.

The building, known as the E.M. O’Connor Building is located at 54 Central St., and stands 2.5 stories with approximately 6,053 square feet of space, according to SVN Parsons Commercial Group, the Framingham company that handled the sale and helped subdivide the property to lease it to smaller tenants.

The building is currently occupied with professional office tenants including Jillson Co., Richer Life Journey, Terra Firm Realty and Middlesex Medical Billing Co.

The seller, Steeple Realty Trust of Fayville, owned the building since 1976. The new owner, Davis Holding Group, LLC, plans to make improvements and lease the remaining spaces available, according to SVN Parsons. The building was sold in July.
