WPI appoints game design director

Worcester Polytechnic Institute has announced that Jennifer deWinter, associate professor in the Department of Humanities and Arts, has been named the new director of its Interactive Media and Game Development (IMGD) Program.

deWinter has been with the school since 2009 and is an active member of the IMGD program. She also has a history of encouraging WPI students to pursue entrepreneurial ideas in game development and other fields, as she is a former entrepreneur herself.

With PhD from the University of Arizona, deWinter’s research interests include computer game theory, computer game development and cultural studies, with a particular interest in how local culture moves internationally.
