Clark University launches new professional studies school

Clark University has launched its new School of Professional Studies that will build upon the institutes previous professional classes previously taught under the College of Professional and Continuing Education school.

The SPS replaces COPACE with the intention of building upon the foundation of classes that had been taught at the school. SPS’s programs are designed for mid-career professionals and international students, said Associate Dean John Chetro-Szivos, while also helping to facilitate Clark University’s accelerated master’s program for undergraduates.

Degrees at the school will include programs in public administration, professional communication and information technology. The school takes a real-world approach, said Chetro-Szivos, with three current or former mayors, a district attorney and a town manager teaching at the school.
