Worcester office mostly spared in EnerNOC reductions

Boston-based EnerNOC's approximately 30 full time employees will mostly be spared in the 15 percent reductions announced last week by the energy management company.

The company announced on Friday that it would be reducing its global workforce by approximately 15 percent, which is part of a re-focusing for the company on more targeted industry segments, according to a release.

According to the company’s Senior Director of Marketing Sarah McAuley, the Worcester office is largely focused on the company’s procurement business and the layoffs were largely in the company’s subscription software business. However, she indicated that up to three Worcester employees could have been impacted by the reductions, though she couldn't confirm specifics.

In January of 2015, EnerNOC completed its acquisition of World Energy Solutions of Worcester for approximately $77 million in cash.
