Solect opening 7,000sf Holliston warehouse

WBJ File Solect COO Jim Dumas (right) and Chief Development Officer Craig Huntley are looking to expand their growing business by building a Holliston warehouse.

Hopkinton commercial solar installer Solect Energy plans to open a Holliston warehouse by mid-2017.

The new 7,000-square-foot facility in Hopping Brook Park will help the company consolidate its Hopkinton warehouse, which is used for equipment storage, while relocating some of its operations personnel to the new location, Chief Development Officer Craig Huntley told Worcester Business Journal on Monday.

The move comes on the heels of employment growth for the company, which has almost tripled its employee count since 2013. Solect today has 55 employees and had 20 in 2013.

The company, which provides solar arrays for commercial and industrial property owners in the state, was founded in 2007. It expects to finish its 300th solar project by the end of the year.

Construction at the Holliston warehouse is underway and is expected to be completed sometime in early to mid-2017, Huntley said.
