A Bethel, Maine clean energy provider is hosting a grand opening on Friday for a showroom and distribution facility in Oxford that will serve Massachusetts, marking the company’s first location in the state.

“We’re excited to be able to serve Massachusetts locally now. Before we were supporting the Massachusetts market from Maine, and now we will have a more local opportunity to bring this tech to the commonwealth,” said Main Energy System’s BJ Otten.

The 20 Boulder Park Way location in North Oxford will serve as a showroom for wood pellet central heating equipment and bulk residential and commercial distribution location for Main Energy System’s wood pellets. Wood pellets can include grass, corn, wood and biogas as well as other forestry and agricultural residues. The biofuel is regarded by many in the field to be carbon neutral when partnered with sustainable forestry practices, said Otten, and can be a part of clean energy solutions.

The company has approximately 20 employees and has trained numerous professionals to install and service its systems.
